SBSMP - School Behaviour Support Management Plan

Singleton Public School Behaviour Support Management Plan (SBSMP)

Singleton Public School has developed the following SBSMP - School Behaviour Support Management Plan.

At Singleton Public School, we are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students. As part of the NSW Department of Education's Student Behaviour Policy, all schools are required to develop and implement a School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP) by Term 1,  2025.

The SBSMP outlines our whole-school approach to supporting student behaviour, focusing on:

  • Prevention and early intervention to promote positive behaviour.
  • Targeted support for students who need additional help.
  • Strategies for managing inappropriate behaviours, including bullying and cyberbullying.
  • Partnerships with parents and carers to ensure consistent support between home and school.

Our plan is developed in consultation with the school commmunity, tailored to meet the needs of our students, and aligned with the principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and inclusive practices.

Key features of the SBSMP include:

  • Clear school-wide expectations for behaviour.
  • Proactive strategies to teach and reinforce positive behaviours.
  • Effective responses to inappropriate or challenging behaviours.
  • Ongoing communication and engagement with parents and carers.

We will also review the SBSMP annually to ensure it remains effective and relevant, using feedback from students, families and school data.  which provides specific whole school and targeted strategies, interventions and programs that support student
