K-2 will be participating in the K-2 Race Day today Friday, 18 October 2024 at Cook Park 2 (Junior Rugby League facility), from 9:30 am onwards. Please wear a shirt in you house colour (if they have one), sunscreen, a hat and joggers. (Lawson – Blue, Kendall – Red, Gordon – Yellow, Paterson – Green) Students will need to bring recess, lunch and at least two drinks. Canteen facilities will NOT be available on the day and students are advised NOT to order their lunch. Children are required to attend school in the morning for class rolls to be marked and name tags given out. SPS staff will walk students to and from the park, leaving school at 9.30 am and returning after lunch. This carnival is a compulsory school activity as all K-2 teachers will be at the park. All students are covered under the general permission note. There will be no K-2 teachers at school. Parents are welcome to come and support their children on the day. Presentation of ribbons will take place at the next Friday Assembly. If you wish to take your child home after the carnival, please sign your child out with their class teacher. During the carnival students are not permitted to play on the fixed equipment at the park. If the weather is sunny, parents and friends are asked to provide their own shade and ground covers to sit on. Ground covers and shade will be provided for SPS students to use.
