Our Year Six major excursion for 2023 is a 5-day trip to Canberra. The excursion is confirmed for Monday, 27 March to Friday, 31 March. The excursion supports and enhances our study of Democracy and Government, as well as significantly contributing to the students social development. The following information is for your benefit, to decide whether your child will be able to attend the excursion. To secure a place, students are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of $100.00, which must be paid by 12.30 pm on Friday, 10 February 2023. If no deposit is paid by the due date your child will be unable to attend. Families are able to make payments of up to $300.00 until a final cost has been determined next year. APPROXIMATE COST: Students - $710.00 - $750.00 Parents - $750.00 - $800.00 This includes: luxury air-conditioned, seat-belt equipped coach travel, motel accommodation, 3 meals daily from dinner on the first day to lunch on the last day and admission to venues and attractions. The cost cannot be finalised until we have accurate attendance numbers. PAYMENT: The approximate cost of the excursion is $750.00-$800.00. This amount includes your deposit of $100.00, leaving $650.00-$700.00 as your final payment. You may pay in weekly/fortnightly installments. Payments can be made using the school’s Parent Online Payment system via the school website, or cash or EFTPOS at the school office. PLEASE NOTE: THE BALANCE OF THE EXCURSION IS DUE ON FRIDAY 17 MARCH 2023 – NO EXCEPTIONS. NO REFUNDS CAN BE GIVEN AFTER THIS DATE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. The school is required to pay the accommodation portion of the excursion 6 weeks in advance. Once your deposit has been paid, your child will be included in these accommodation numbers and the school will be billed accordingly. Any parents experiencing financial difficulty with payment for the excursion need to speak to Mrs Burns in the office as soon as possible to discuss Student Assistance. This must be done at least 6 weeks prior to the excursion date. All discussions are private and confidential. PARENT HELPERS: The inclusion of parent helpers for the excursion will be limited. Preference will be given to parents of students with specific health/medical needs. Interested parents will be notified after all student deposits have been received and numbers established. The cost to parents will be approximately $750.00-$800.00 and successful parents will be notified as soon as possible after numbers are finalised so that they can begin to make payments. Please consider your financial obligations before putting your name down as parent payment will also be due on the same date as the students. There are strictly no extensions for parent payments. Parents that do attend will need a current Working with Children Certificate as well as a completed WWCC Declaration for Child-Related Workers declaration form and government photo ID shown.
