At Singleton Public School, nurturing high potential and gifted learners is an integral part of everything we do. Many of our students demonstrate exceptional abilities, and we are committed to helping their potential flourish into outstanding achievements.

  • Our school identifies and supports students with high potential through targeted enrichment, extension and extra-curricular opportunities such as debating, competitions, critical thinking workshops, and STEM and coding clubs.
  • All our students, including high potential and gifted students, are encouraged to take on leadership roles through student representative council leadership, mentoring programs and peer coaching.
  • Student talent is celebrated and extended through school musicals, drama groups, visual arts showcases, music ensembles and creative writing groups.
  • Our students can take part in sports training squads, coaching sessions, house competitions and differentiated Physical Education programs.
  • Students enhance their talents through activities such as debating, competitions, public speaking, critical thinking workshops and our Game Changer challenges.
  • We celebrate creativity and achievement through school-wide events including our Pantomime, showcases featuring the school choir, Vivid, class assemblies, drama productions, visual arts, music performances, school band, and the didgeridoo group—supported by student leadership roles and our dedicated tech crew.
  • Leadership is fostered through participation in Student Representative Council (SRC), Student Councillor roles, mentoring, and peer coaching, while wellbeing is actively promoted with Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) awards and Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM) chats.
  • Our school community nurtures curiosity and belonging every day with Open Library sessions during recess and lunch, alongside cultural groups such as BroSpeak and SistaSpeak, as well as the Aboriginal Dance Crew and didgeridoo ensemble.
  • Physical Education also plays an important role, with opportunities through PSSA sport, training, coaching and competitions that include differentiated Physical Education programs tailored to meet varying skill levels.

  • Statewide and NSW Department of Education support is available for high potential and gifted students, and we help with entries, preparation and reflection so every experience feeds back into learning.
