Hunter Golf Trials

The Upper Hunter PSSA Zone Team Golf Trials will b held on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 at Waratah Golf Club, Argenton. Cost: $20 per player for 18 hole competitors and $10 per player for 6 hole competitors. Transport: Private Uniform: Please wear suitable Golf attire or school uniform with appropriate footwear Additional Information: Registration: From 8.30am. The 18 hole competition tees off at 9:30am - players must have an 18 hole official handicap. Players are eligible for selection in the Hunter team to play at the NSWPSSA Golf Championships. Players should only trial if they are willing to travel and compete at the championships - for information refer to NSWPSSA web page. To locate the event page select either find events or view calendar and use the filter tool to refine your search. The 6 hole two-person ambrose tees off at 10.15am. No handicap is required, teams will be announced on the day and players are unable to qualify for the Hunter team.

NSW Primary School CPR Awareness Program - Years 5 and 6

Stage 3 students will be participating in the NSW Primary School CPR Awareness Program. All students gain the opportunity to perform CPR skills on infant, child, and adult mannequin stations, including recovery rolls. There is no cost to students as this program has been graciously donated by the school P&C. When: Tuesday, 7 May 2024 Where: Singleton Public School Time: 12:30pm – 1:30pm (5NM and Year 5 students from 4/5A) 2:05pm – 3:05pm (6S and 6T) Please return the NSW Primary School CPR Awareness Program permission note to your child’s classroom teacher by Friday, 3 May 2024.

UHPSSA Netball

UHPSSA Zone Netball Trials will be held at Singleton Public School on Wednesday 8 May 2024. Students will need to arrive at 9:00am for a 9:30 am start. Finish approximately at 12:00 pm (some students not participating in possible and probable selections will finish earlier). Students will need to wear school uniform and joggers. Bibs for selection will be provided on the day. There will be no canteen facilities available on the day. Please ensure students have adequate food and water to stay hydrated throughout the trials. There is a $5.00 levy that needs to be paid by Tuesday, 7 May 2024.

MAGS Day 2024 Mothers, Aunties, Grandmothers and Significant others re invited to celebreate Mother's Day at SPS on Friday, 10 May 2024 at 1.30 pm. A sausage sizzle will be provided to students and MAGS. There will be variety of activities for MAGS to enjoy with their children from 2.05 pm. Our Year 6 fundraiser raffle will be drawn at 2.40 pm.

UHPSSA Cross Country

Selected students will be participating in the UHPSSA Zone Cross Country Carnival on Friday, 10 May 2024 at Karoola Park, Muswellbrook. Students will need to meet at 8.30 am they will then walk the track at 8.45 am. Races will begin at approximately 9.30 am. Students will need to wear their sports uniform and appropriate footwear. Please ensure students have plenty of drinking water and lunch. There is a $5.00 levy payable to the school by Thursday, 9 May 2024.

Athletics Carnival

2024 Years 3-6 Athletics Carnival (and Year 2 students turning 8) Our School Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday, 17 May 2024 at Rose Point Park, Singleton. The carnival is for all students in Years 3-6 and students in Year 2 who are turning 8 in 2024. The event is covered by the 2024 General Permission note, so no permission is required. Attending students will need to come to school first and assemble under the COLA from 9:00 am with their class teacher. Students on late arriving buses will join their classes on arrival. We will leave school at 9:15 am, ready to start at 9:30 am. Students will need to wear suitable sport clothes in their house colours - Kendall – Red, Gordon – Yellow, Paterson – Green, Lawson – Blue. Please bring school hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. There will be no canteen facilities available, therefore please pack enough food and water for the day. Students will be walking to and from Rose Point Park with their teachers. At the end of the day, students may go home with parents from Rose Point Park. Parents MUST sign their child out at the recording/admin desk before leaving the park. The High Jump events will take place at school during sport times and will be sent out on the School App. Absent students on their allocated day will miss the event. The support and help of parents and family on the day is essential to running a quality carnival. If you are able to assist at the Carnival, please complete and submit your details. The carnival is for ALL students in Years 3 to 6. All K-2 students will stay at school and have normal classes (with the exception of the participating 8-year-old Year 2 students). All Year 3 to 6 teachers will be supervising at the carnival. Therefore, it is expected that all students in Years 3 to 6 will attend the carnival as it is a regular school day, and the carnival is part of our PDHPE/physical activity curriculum. There is no cost for this excursion. The event is covered by the general permission note.
