SPS Rock and Water Program 2023

Year Six has been invited to attend the Rock and Water program which is being offered to our Year 6 students through the Singleton Youth Venue. The program will be run by Youth Workers who have been specifically trained to facilitate the course over the term.

What is the ROCK AND WATER program?

Rock and Water is a program that is delivered over a number of lessons to students in primary or high school. A series of exercises and games are practised to develop confidence and self-reflection. The games are martial arts based, and students learn to block, hit strike shields, stand strong, negotiate using “rock” or “water” verbal approaches, walk away from a fight, consider alternatives to aggression, and develop understandings about who they are, their intuitive feelings and their personal direction.

The program will run every Friday commencing Friday, 5 May 2023 for the duration of the term.  The program will run from 12.10pm to 1.00pm.

Please return the permission note to your Year 6 teacher by Thursday, 4 May 2023.
